When SDI decided to acquire its largest competitor, Verispan, the company engaged Pine Hill Group to perform financial due diligence to ensure it received a proper purchase price. Through these efforts our team identified a $1.5MM purchase price adjustment which lead to a successful acquisition.

After closing the transaction, Pine Hill Group was asked by the CFO to assist in ensuring successful financial integration of these two firms, synergizing them into one financial reporting system. Through this relationship, over a 9-month period, Pine Hill Group continued meeting with both the buyer and seller’s accounting departments, which ultimately helped to unravel complexities associated with how very different the two firms had previously recognized revenue. By taking the best of what both companies had been doing, Pine Hill Group helped form an alternative revenue recognition policy, fully documented, and accepted by all. When the new approach was questioned by auditors, Pine Hill Group gained their approval by presenting the reasoning and validation of how this new approach represented a proper, streamlined, and efficient solution for moving forward.
